The cycling season is coming to an end, but before it does, it’s worth taking part in the unique ORLEN Lang Team Race in Bytów. The event, held in the hometown of Czesław Lang, traditionally gathers cycling enthusiasts on the course, who will take part in the race as well as in the “Following the Footsteps of Czesław Lang” Parade.
For amateur cyclists, this will be the last race in the ORLEN Lang Team Race series. After successful events in Arłamów and BUKOVINA Resort – where the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs – Ryszard Szurkowski Memorial was held – it’s now time for the stage in Bytów, the city of Czesław Lang.
The 1980 Olympic silver medalist and General Director of Lang Team invites everyone to take part in the race, which will be held on Saturday, September 13. Riders will be able to choose between two distances — Mini and Maxi — while the competition will also feature a children’s race and the family-friendly “Following the Footsteps of Czesław Lang” Parade. It’s a great opportunity for parents to spend time with their children in a cycling atmosphere. The event is held under the patronage of Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
“The idea for organizing the ‘Following the Footsteps of Czesław Lang’ Parade came from my own story. Right here in Bytów, at the age of 13, I competed in the ‘Little Peace Race’ which sparked my love for cycling. The bicycle quickly became my whole life. That’s why I encourage families to join the Parade and amateur cyclists to take part in the final stage of the ORLEN Lang Team Race, which as always will be held with professional organization and full safety measures” said Czesław Lang, General Director of Lang Team.
Depending on their choice, amateurs will compete over distances of 41 and 108 kilometers. Both routes will start and finish in Bytów and lead through hilly terrain showcasing the unique landscapes of Kashubia. For those racing or taking part in the parade, it will also be a chance to ride on the very roads where Czesław Lang began his cycling career. The grand finale of the ORLEN Lang Team Race in Bytów, scheduled for September 13, promises to be a true cycling celebration.
Registration for the ORLEN Lang Team Race and the “Following the Footsteps of Czesław Lang” Race and Parade is open at the website, where the event regulations can also be found. The race office will be open on September 12 from 5:00–7:00 PM and on the day of the race from 8:00–10:30 AM.
