Every year, the Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour brings together a world-class peloton of professional cyclists. At the same time, cycling enthusiasts have a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of racing on a specially prepared course in the atmosphere of a professional event by taking part in the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs – Ryszard Szurkowski Memorial. This year’s race will take place on 8 August in Bukowina Tatrzańska.
The Tour de Pologne UCI WorldTour is the pinnacle of road cycling in Poland and one of the most prestigious races in this part of Europe. Alongside the elite competition, the event features a number of accompanying activities, including the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs, which has attracted thousands of recreational cyclists for more than a decade.
For amateur riders, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tackle the very same roads that the UCI WorldTour professionals will race just a few hours later. The event is held as the Ryszard Szurkowski Memorial, honouring the legendary Polish cyclist, world champion, Olympic silver medallist, and four-time Peace Race winner.
This year’s edition of the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs – Ryszard Szurkowski Memorial will once again be hosted by Bukowina Tatrzańska and BUKOVINA Resort, which on 8 August will become the cycling capital of Poland.
Czesław Lang and the Lang Team have designed an exciting course for participants. Riders will start from BUKOVINA Resort before heading onto a demanding 24-kilometre circuit, which they will complete twice. On each lap, participants will tackle the legendary and exceptionally steep BUKOVINA Wall in Gliczarów. After nearly 54 kilometres of racing on the scenic roads of the Tatra Mountains, the finish line awaits at the Rusiń-Ski resort – a fitting finale for riders who enjoy climbing challenges.
The race will be held in the unique atmosphere of a true UCI WorldTour event. Participants can look forward to generous starter packs, professional race organisation, full course safety, and an experience inspired by the Tour de Pologne itself. The race office will be open on Thursday and Friday, 6 and 7 August, while the ORLEN Tour de Pologne Amateurs will start at 7:30 a.m. Everything is set for another unforgettable celebration of cycling.
